SEOUL – May 14th, 2023 – Pulmuone, a South Korean fresh food company and the U.S. tofu market leader, announced on May 14th that the sales of its fresh noodle products in the U.S. grew by 65% to $72.2M in 2022. The company is continuing its rapid growth in Asian noodle sales in U.S. by captivating the palates of American consumers. Pulmuone is planning to expand its fresh noodle production line by the end of this year and enter new regions with an aim to further accelerate its sales and profit growth.

Pulmuone entered the U.S. mainstream market of Asian noodles in 2015 and began to sell premium fresh noodles with unrivaled taste and convenient cooking. The company’s efforts to expand the local Asian noodle market led to an almost ten-fold increase in sales over the last six years, from $8.2M in 2016 to $72.2M in 2022.

Teriyaki Stir-fry Udon, served with vegetable toppings and sweet soy sauce, and Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, prepared with pork, vegetables and broth concentrate, are among Pulmuone’s major Asian noodle products. Bringing home the authentic taste of Asian food restaurants with a simple microwave oven cooking of 3 to 5 minutes, these two products are popular choice among U.S. consumers. Teriyaki Stif-fry Udon and Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, in January and February this year respectively, were listed in the Costco coupon book products in U.S. and sold 1.8 million units across the U.S. in total. Pulmuone was the first Korean food company to present its refrigerated products in the multi-vendor mailers of Costco for two months in a row. Pulmuone’s Teriyaki Stir-fry Udon also entered 108 Canadian Costco stores and 29 UK Costco stores in February and August in 2022 respectively.

Pulmuone also launched Beef Japchae, a Korean traditional noodle with meat and vegetables based on sesame oil sauce, and entered US Costco stores in March last year to post annual sales of more than 300,000 units
