SEOUL – October 19th, 2020 – Pulmuone, a fresh food company with global businesses of Korean-made original kimchi, launched a new type of kimchi that reinterpreted the spicy Korean side dish.

 

Pulmuone announced on 19th that the company launched Relish Kimchi, a chopped vegan kimchi with sweet tomatoes and sriracha sauce, in the U.S. and S. Korea simultaneously in two flavors: Mild and Spicy.

 

Kimchi Relish, which is a new type of kimchi aimed at global markets, can be enjoyed with foods from various cuisines including pastas, salads, omu-rices, tofus, Korean seaweed rice rolls, tacos, quesadillas, pizzas, hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. After completing its global kimchi plant and starting its kimchi export to the U.S. last year, Pulmuone is now taking further steps to globally introduce kimchi by launching Kimchi Relish simultaneously in the U.S. and S. Korea.

 

Even in its traditional history, kimchi has been not just eaten alone but used as additions for stews, soups, steamed foods, stir-fries and sauces. Noting such versatility of kimchi, Pulmuone developed Kimchi Relish to give its global consumers more options to enjoy the authentic Korean dish. Beyond preserving the tradition, Kimchi Relish is a step forward for Pulmuone in promoting kimchi across the globe.

 

 

Kimchi Relish-stuffed Hotdogs with exotic flavor

 

 

Relish, made of chopped fruits, vegetables or pickles cooked and allowed to become cold, is a common condiment in Anglosphere countries. Pulmuone Kimchi Relish consists of chopped fish sauce-free vegan kimchi with a perfect combination of sweet tomatoes and red pepper which adds exotic flavor to the Korean traditional side dish. Even foreign consumers and children who are yet to be familiar with kimchi can easily enjoy the taste of kimchi with Kimchi Relish.

As kimchi attracts attention as a healthy food in the global markets after coronavirus pandemic, Pulmuone is set to sell Kimchi Relish in stores of nationwide retailers such as Albertsons and Safeway earlier this month.

 

Freshly made with 100% plant-based ingredients without any type of fish sauce, Pulmuone Kimchi Relish is a vegan, sustainable food for all vegetarians to enjoy. With the increasing number of flexitarians who occasionally eat meat or fish and primarily have a vegetarian diet to help environment, especially among millennials and gen-Z, Pulmuone Kimchi Relish is expected to further appeal to young consumers.

Pulmuone completed a global kimchi plant in Iksan, S. Korea in May last year and has been selling kimchi products manufactured here to the U.S. mainstream channels including the country’s two largest grocers, Walmart and Kroger. After defining kimchi business as an international promotion of Korean food culture, Pulmuone is actively leading various activities aimed at introducing authentic Korean kimchi to not just 2.5 million people of Korean ethnicities but also 330 million mainstream American consumers.
