Reporting standards and principles
The non-financial performance achieved by Pulmuone includes human capital, social capital, and environmental capital from January 1 to December 31, 2019, and the main reporting indicators were selected based on the framework of the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting Committee) and the GRI Standards of Global Reporting Initiatives. Reporting performance over the past 3 years is included to understand the trends for each item.

Equal Wage System

Pulmuone promotes equal wage system so that wage discrimination does not occur within the same job class/job group when the same job is performed regardless of gender. The first wage for new employees is the same for the male and female. The average wage for males in non-managerial positions is higher than that of females because of their difference in the term of stay in that position.

Hazardous substance management

Pulmuone systematically manages hazardous substances, set by hazardous substance management items and standards, to respond to product environmental regulations and secure competitiveness that has been expanded and strengthened internationally.

Energy use intensity

The energy use intensity in the manufacturing sector in 2019 decreased to 155.7kgOE/product ton by 1.1% compared to the previous year. In addition, the efficiency of energy use and renewable energy use will be expanded to reduce energy use intensity by 27% (compared to 2008), which is the goal of 2022.

GHG emissions per ton of product

The use of Wood Pellets decreased due to a supply & demand issue in regard to Wood Pellets. Greenhouse gas emissions increased compared to the previous year due to the increased use of LNG (city gas) and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the company introduced a solar hot water heater system and expanded investment in solar power generation facilities.

The waste discharge per ton of product in manufacturing sector recorded 99kg /product ton, decreasing by 7.5% compared to the previous year. To reduce the generation of waste discharge per ton of product, the company is working hard to minimize waste generated in the production process and convert waste placed in landfills or incinerated into recycled waste to minimize environmental impact.
