The energy use intensity in the manufacturing sector in 2019 decreased to 155.7kgOE/product ton by 1.1% compared to the previous year. In addition, the efficiency of energy use and renewable energy use will be expanded to reduce energy use intensity by 27% (compared to 2008), which is the goal of 2022.
The use of Wood Pellets decreased due to a supply & demand issue in regard to Wood Pellets. Greenhouse gas emissions increased compared to the previous year due to the increased use of LNG (city gas) and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the company introduced a solar hot water heater system and expanded investment in solar power generation facilities.
Pulmuone continues to expand investment in the replacement with facilities for water usage reduction and reused /recycled water consumption for efficient use of water resources, in which the company invests for the production process.
The waste discharge per ton of product in manufacturing sector recorded 99kg /product ton, decreasing by 7.5% compared to the previous year. To reduce the generation of waste discharge per ton of product, the company is working hard to minimize waste generated in the production process and convert waste placed in landfills or incinerated into recycled waste to minimize environmental impact.
Pulmuone has minimized impact on customers and environment and established eco-friendly purchasing principles for efficient use of resources, continuously expanding the size of purchase.
